Màhala
From the music department of the university of Ioannina we’ve had a number of students pass through the studio. One of them had been threatening to come to record his band for a while now and this late autumn they finally came. The line up is Trumpet, Electric Guitar, Keyboards, Bass and Drums, with the bass player doubling as vocalist on a couple of songs. These guys mean business. They play a lot on the street and rehearse several times per week in order to work on their music. Which is a combination of traditional Greek influences, as well as some Funk and Rock elements. Some covers of traditional or Rempetiko songs, some of their own compositions. We got really fond of them, each of them lovely people, and have been having a lot of fun recording, brainstorming, mixing, filming and generally being part of this adventure. The first single is just out, see below. We’re working on a total of 6 songs of which 3 will have a music video. The second video has been filmed and in total 3 songs have been recorded. More soon!
